Fortis Secure Support
Community-led crisis and cost-of-living projects run by Fortis Advisory CIC — providing local access to food, energy, benefit, and debt support across Scotland.
What is Fortis Secure Support?
Fortis Secure Support is the community projects division of Fortis Advisory CIC. Each project focuses on a specific local area, helping residents in financial hardship to access emergency help, food, energy top-ups, and benefit advice.
The service is delivered entirely by volunteers and designed to be simple, transparent, and community-driven — with all donations and grants going directly toward local crisis support.
Current Projects
Garioch Secure Support
Based in the Garioch region of Aberdeenshire (covering Insch, Inverurie, Kemnay, Kintore, Blackburn, Newmachar, and Westhill), this is our largest project. It provides:
- Crisis Support: Information on local crisis grants and emergency assistance.
- Energy Top-Up Fund: Local voucher support for prepayment meter users in hardship.
- Foodbank Referrals: Assistance for residents who cannot afford food.
- White Goods Support: Free essential appliances for eligible families, in partnership with Children in Need and other funders.
- Benefit & Debt Advice: Free confidential advice via email from volunteer advisers.
Visit the Garioch project website at www.securesupport.org.uk.
Fraserburgh Secure Support
Our smaller pilot project, Fraserburgh Secure Support, operates in partnership with a local foodbank and focuses on crisis referrals and advice signposting. It serves as a test model for expanding Fortis Secure Support into other areas of Aberdeenshire and beyond.
Our Approach
Each Secure Support project is run by local volunteers, ensuring an understanding of community needs. We keep costs minimal and depend on public donations and volunteer time — not large grants — to ensure direct, immediate help reaches those who need it most.
Our long-term goal is to build a network of locally branded Secure Support projects across Scotland, each run under the Fortis Advisory CIC umbrella, maintaining shared standards and ethical practice.
